About a Blog or Commercialized inspiration
So... blogging right? It's something I've been thinking about doing for a long time but have always had an excuse for putting it off. But just like the Nike ads told me Ima "just do it"*Jeremy Clarkson voice*.
I've come to realise that waiting for things to happen or to fall into place is a very long and agonising wait with earth-shattering disappointment at the end. Ok, maybe I'm being a little dramatic, but my point still stands. All too often we put off or give up completely the things that we want to do or that make us happy. Why? Because we're afraid. Afraid that we might not be good at it, or alternatively, afraid that we'll be so incredibly amazing at whatever it is, that it causes anyone who bares witness to it to spontaneous implode. But most of the time, we're afraid of what people will think or say.
Our self-esteem is so wrapped up in what other people think and say. But sometimes you just have to NOT care. I'm not generally a Nike endorser, but I think they got it right with just do it.We waste so much thinking "will people like it" "are they going to think it's lame?" The first step is always the hardest, but if you want to, say start a blog for example, just do it. If you want to make art out of toe nails and mustache clippings, it would freak people out, but so what? just do it. My point if it makes you happy, just do it. Unless it involves drugs, Slenderman or wearing sock with sandals, in which case, just DON'T do it.
